GMO Corn proven to have more bad than good

A breakthrough report on the nutritional density of genetically-modified (GM) corn crops demolishes all existing claims that GMOs are 'substantially equivalent' to non-GMOs. Entitled 2012 Nutritional Analysis: Comparison of GMO Corn versus Non-GMO Corn, the paper reveals not only that GMO corn is greatly lacking in vitamins and minerals compared to non-GMO corn, but also that it is highly toxic and filled with deadly crop chemicals like glyphosate (Roundup)...
Overall, the paper found that non-GMO corn is 20 times richer in nutrition, energy and protein compared to GMO corn.

How long will society allow the FDA and Monsanto (et al) to outright lie to us while slowly trying to kill us for our money?

Still not convinced that GMO crops are unhealthy, bad, or otherwise just questionable enough to stop consuming them? Try reading this. After hearing a TED talk by Roger Doiron, director of Kitchen Gardeners International, I knew that we needed to combine our forces for the greater good.

After hundreds of emails, phone calls, and countless hours of planning and fund-raising, Roger has helped to bring our dream to a reality.

Geri Breaks the Story on Seed Sterilization

In what has been described as one of the most important articles ever written on GMO and seed sterilization technologies, Biologist and Ark Founder Geri Guidetti dives deep into the early betrayal and lies of the chemical-companies-turned-seed-giants like Monsanto and others. Geri expounds on the world of the Terminator Gene and the Traitor Gene, which were pivotal in gaining these seed Goliaths the ability to patent and protect their extensively genetically modified seeds.

We wanted to bring this article back to life recently during the fight for Prop 37 in California, the recent exponentially increasing lies being told by big-food and big-agriculture, and also just to share the knowledge that is so fundamental to our fight against GMOs. But also, we wanted to separate ourselves from the rest of the seed companies that are popping up all over the place to take advantage of the health-conscious public. As we have seen the numbers of seed companies rise so high, so fast, over the past 5 years or so, we have become increasingly scared about the integrity of these companies and the seed which they provide. Not all of them are who they say they are, and not all seeds are created equal.

We started this revolution, and we have not changed our course since day one. Go and ask any of the other seed companies out there if they have done this kind of research, or if they are even scientists or even know where their seed actually comes from. I don't think they will be able to answer like we can. And in the end, who do you want to trust your seed and health to?

"The United States is suffering the worst drought in 50 years. But crop damage may well have been avoided if high quality non-GM varieties were available to farmers. Further evidence is emerging that glyphosate-tolerant crops are ill-equipped to deal with drought, while high quality non-GM varieties are flourishing. Monopoly of the seed industry has left farmers unable to get non-GM varieties, despite the drought having global repercussions including steep rises of cereal prices and reduced meat production in many countries."

So the public argument is that GMO crops contribute so much to the food supply and that they can survive more hardship. What do you have to say about this? Just goes to show that the only people who believe that GMOs are for the greater good are totally ignorant, and totally incorrect.

"In a two-year study, a team of French researchers led by Professor Gilles-Eric Seralini found that rats fed Monsanto's "Roundup Ready" corn developed significantly more tumors than a control group not fed GM corn. The rats fed a GM diet also developed tumors that appeared earlier and behaved more aggressively, and died sooner than rats in the control group.
The study found similar effects in rats exposed to Roundup herbicide at levels currently considered safe by most regulators."

This is just enfuriating. How on earth can anyone be so blind that they would subject their fellow human race - even their own families - to this poison!?!?!

I think that by now we can stop using the word "shocking" for these studies. Since every study shows that they are poisonous, and that allowing (encouraging) more pesticide usage is destroying the eco-system and food chain, it really isn't shocking me anymore. I just want to know what more evidence the US needs to finally ban GMOs, not to mention require open labeling of it!

India Isn't Happy to Just Label GMOs, They Want to Ban GMOs altogether!

I never thought I'd wish our government was more like India, but at times I'm okay with admitting I was wrong. India isn't happy to just label GMOs, they want to ban GMOs altogether! Indian Parlaiment has recommended a country-wide ban on GMO crops, this coming from the largest agricultural country on the planet Earth.

Apparently they don't have the deep-pocketted lobbyists like our shady Congress does! I support a Constitutional Amendment to require labeling, because I know our corrupt governemt law makers would never turn down the donations from Big-Ag and the agrochemical companies which would happen if they ever supported something like this. Go India!

Stanford Report on Organic Foods Found to be Nothing More than Big Ag Propeganda

Remember the recent Stanford report that claimed that organic foods were not any more healthful or nutritious than non-organic foods? If not, you can find it a few inches below on this very page. Many scientists, including our own biologist Founder, were fast to dismiss the report as scientifically inaccurate, methodologically flawed, and otherwise just all-around kind of suspicious.

Well, it seems that after thoroughly vetting the study participants and authors, our suspicions have been verified. Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, and editor of NaturalNews.com, has written a great article about the corrupt nature of the ingestigation. Top on the list: one of the authors of the study has direct ties to the anti-science propeganda writing used by Big Tobacco in the past, and also that Stanford has direct financial ties to Cargill, one of the agrochemical and corrupt seed companies in the same field as seed antichrist Monsanto.

Makers of Most Devastating Medication of All Time Apologize to Victims... 50 Years Later!

Makers of the infamous birth defect causing drug Thalidomide are apologizing to the victims of their blunder, commonly renowned as one of the worst pharmaceutical tragedies of all time. But through all the publicity-stunt apologies, they still admit no guilt. For years I have drawn similarities between Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) and Thalidomide (as well as the Tuskegee Experiments, but I digress, fr now). This comparison is mainly due to their "best of intentions" beginnings, the fact that they do (under CLOSE control and supervision) have proven benefits (Thalidomide is now used successfully to treat cancer and other diseases), but most notably due to their rush to market without proper testing, and their immensely negative effects on human beings (and animals). If you aren't aware of all of the empiricle evidence of negative health impacts of GMOs on the consumers and the environments, please read further down this very page for enough to make you sick).

***Is this generation going to be the next public, human genetic testing generation?
***Is the government allowing large and well-financed companies to pump foreign chemicals into our bodies without knowing what will happen in a few years?

Stanford Report on Organic Foods Does NOT Say What You're Being Told

The recent study put out by the Stanford School of Medicine has many news outlets touting that organic foods are no better for you than regular foods, and the big agrochemical giants like Monsanto, Dupont, Seminis, Dow, and the rest are all celebrating a big win, albeit a false one built upon misinformation, crafty wording, and basically 7th grade reporting skills hell-bent on creating shockwaves in a well-known fault zone.

The findings of the study are being reported to show that organic foods are no better for you than their non-ogranic counterparts. The simple fact is, this is just correct enough to be reported, and it is being spread like wildfire. Truth be told: Organic varieties of your produce, meats, dairy, etc are not in-and-of-themselves more nutritious than non-organic varieties. It's true. But the worse part is that the greater public consumer base was being led to believe - and WAS believing - that it is. The underlying principle about eating organic is not that you are eating anything with more vitamins and nutrients than the cheaper versions, but you ARE buying something that was kept free from certain amounts of harmful chemicals and pesticides and genetically modified organisms (GMO) which have PROVEN negative effects on both human and animal bodies, as well as the environments in which they are used. The only way to ensure that your veggies have more vitamins and nutrients in them is to "Buy Fresh, Buy Local", so that you get them as fresh as possible. Fruits and veggies lose exponential quantities of their vitamin and nutrient content every day that they are "off the vine".

And this couldn't come at a worse time, as Americans are trying to save every penny at the grocery stores, and only just starting to believe in the non-GMO and open labeling movement, that now they are just going to start reverting back to the chemicals and genetic mutations of non-organic and GMO produce.

The worst part about the actual report is their test group and duration of testing. The testing of the test groups and control groups in these "studies" varied in lengths from 2 days to 2 years. THAT'S ALL! A "scientific" study of the effects of foods on the human body, and the tests took less time than it took some bodies to even process the meal that they ate!
This is like a representative of the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration coming out and saying that texting while driving at high speeds and under the influence of alcohol, shows no negative impact on driver safety, all based on the fact that he had a few drinks before driving home at 75mph while texting his buddies on the way, and he lived to tell about it.

Top 10 Lies told by Monsanto on GMO Labeling in California

Why are Monsanto and other genetic agro-business giants pouring tens of millions of dollars into the fight to make GMO use remain a secret mystery in our food supply? Profits, dammit, and they are willing to outright lie to keep those dollars rolling in, no matter what the human and animal health consequences!
We MUST fight GMOs and support open labeling in every state, in every country, in every school, and on every farm. We have the right to eat natural foods and sustain our own healthy lifestyles, and we have enough to worry about without the seed and food manufacturers lying about slowly killing us all...

Natural foods companies who fight against your Right To Know

If you think that buying "natural" from Big Food companies means you are doing your body good, then you have a lot to learn about Big Food. But even more so, if you think that buying "natural" foods from companies like Kashi, Silk, General Mills, or many others, is doing your part to help the actual natural foods movement or the non-GMO and Right to Know GMO open labeling movement, then you are sorely mistaken, and even worse you are contributing to the enemy!

I have said it before, and I will preach it until I cannot preach it anymore - we need to go straight to the top and fight for a Constitutional Ammendment requiring all GMO foods to be labeled and all GMO science to be tested and trialed and the results made public. It's been a long time since the US has had an ammendment. If the Constitution is set out to defend the idea that all men are created equal, then why does it allow the Big Ag and Big Food folks to walk all over the consuming public and use the world population as their lab rats? I say that's not equal, and not fair, and not honest or just. I say that eating healthy food that is honest about its origins is MY unalienable right, and I will fight to protect it. You should to.

Syngenta Charged for Covering up Livestock Deaths from GM Corn

Syngenta has been charged with covering up negative results from testing of its Bt Maize (corn) and Bt Cotton, after testing resulted in thousands of "unexplained" deaths of animals which fed on the GMO crops. In the Phillipines, humans were even found to die from living near the crops, suffering from fever, respiratory failure, and skin and in testinal problems.
What more needs to be proven before GMOs are investigated and big agriculture and big gov't stop allowing these biotoxins and genetic mutations into our food supply?!!?!?
We at the Ark Institute don't just believe in open labeling of GMOs or regulated testing, we 100% support the outright elimination of them from our planet. Big profits be damned, we will fight until we cannot fight anymore. Illinois farmer swears against GMO Soy & Corn

Wendal Lutz has been farming soy and white corn on his 500+ acres in the nation's heartland for nearly 35 years. After hearing stories about the high success of GMO crops from his neighbors and the compulsive liars at Monsanto, he switched to GM crops to decrease weeds and increase yields. As Wendall realized very quickly, the outcome wasn't what he had intended...
After as little as one year of GM crops, his yields shrank, his weeds got more resistant, and his temper got reasonably hot...

Last week, the House Agriculture Committee rolled out its version of the Farm Bill (H.R.6083). We told you about Monsanto's latest line of attack on the few laws that actually protect "a farmer's choice to grow non-genetically engineered crops, or a consumer's choice to eat non-genetically engineered food."
If you haven't already taken action to stop Monsanto's sneak attack, both in the House Farm Bill and the Monsanto Rider in the 2013 Agriculture Appropriations Bill, click here.
Monsanto's attacks on the law's ability to protect farmers and consumers from unwanted, dangerous GMO contamination may be the boldest example of its power over Congress. But there's a lot more in the House Farm Bill that benefits biotechnology and Big Ag at the expense of family farmers and organic and sustainable food and agriculture.

The House Farm Bill includes:
+$16.1 billion in cuts to food assistance;
+Eliminates the Organic Certification Cost Share Program;
+Tens of billions in corporate welfare for the largest commodity crop growers, insurance companies, and agribusinesses;
+$6 billion in cuts to programs to protect natural resources, invest in beginning and disadvantaged farmers, revitalize local food economies, and promote health and food security;
+Unlimited subsidies to mega-farms that continue to drive small family farmers out of business;
+Incentives for growers to drop conservation practices, plow up marginal areas and intensify fencerow-to-fencerow cultivation of environmentally sensitive land;
+Nearly eight times more support for corn, soy, cotton, rice and wheat than for healthy fruits, nuts and vegetables;
+Guts the common-sense rules that protect water quality and wildlife from agricultural pesticides;
+Undermines progress made at the state level for animal rights;
+Ends fair competition and contract protections for livestock producers;

Monsanto tries to control humanity through the food supply

Those well-funded Monsanto lobbyists up on Capitol Hill have convinced the other money-hungry dirty politicians to sneak in a rider into legislation that will effectively prevent the Government or anyone else from testing and interfering with MOnsanto's genetically modification of the nation's food supply. Not like the feds are doing anything to stop them today, but this bill passage could effectively prevent farmers from ever fighting back, prevent customers from ever demanding open labeling, and prevent health organizations from ever investigating the warlords at Monsanto.

Courts in Rio have determined that Monsanto is responsible to reimburse the farms and farmers that they have been putting out of business with their huge costs and taxes, to the tune of over $7 BILLION dollars! If only this would pass, and set a precedent to spread around the world... What joy that could bring so many...

Canadian firm has engineered a genetically modified (GM) apple that will not turn brown after weeks on the shelf, after bruising, or even after sitting out for days - sliced. Is this what people really want? It seems the major fight they are getting is from the Organic apple growers of the US. How about those of us who don't want to be eating FrankenApples that never rot or bruise? I'll take my chances with some natural, non-GMO Granny Smiths anyday...

Studies have shown that Monsanto Round-Up's key ingredient, glyphosate, kills testicular cells. That's right, it kills your testes, men. I am going to stop typing now, as a moment of "silence" in honor of your dying "seeds".

Unless the rice you buy is certified organic, or comes specifically from a farm that tests its rice crops for genetically modified (GM) traits, you could be eating rice tainted with actual human genes. The only known GMO with inbred human traits in cultivation today, a GM rice product made by biotechnology company Ventria Bioscience is currently being grown on 3,200 acres in Junction City, Kansas -- and possibly elsewhere -- and most people have no idea about it...

It looks like the dirtbags at Monsanto pulled some strings and got the FDA to virutally delete more than ONE MILLION names from the "Just Label It" GMO labeling campaign petitions. How far will they go? How far will we let them go? It's time to take action NOW!!!

If you've ever been in a conversation with someone who wants to know why GMOs are so bad for humans, animals, and our planet, but you have been short on facts, then you have come to the right place. The Ark Institute was one of the first to really start the movement in the '90s, and we're glad that it has gotten as strong as it has today. 22 Scientists wrote a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency stating that insects' resistance to GMO corn can - and should - be halted by using non-GMO traditional corn. We at The Ark completely agree! Corn is one of the oldest and most widely used food products on earth, and it has done so without human intervention (well, except for maybe the invention of crop rotation). But leave it to us to finally develop the technology to even screw that up.

Our friends at the Organic Consumers Association are raising money to get signatures on a petition to get GE foods labeled in California, and they need our help NOW! They are on their way to 830,000 signatures by April 22, 2012, and need some support from the rest of the US to get it done. We all know that what happens around the country typically starts in California, so if we help them win, we can be helping ourselves win from coast to coast!

Monsanto acquired a firm that has successfully mapped the genetic structure of honeybees. Now, all they have to do is breed and release bees that are resistant to every known pesitcide on the market, except for their own brand, and then monopolize the pesticide market just like they have sought to do with the herbicide market. If only they had been around in mid-20th century Eurpoe, I think they would have been good friends with the Führer...

The basis for the interview is how glyphosate (Round-Up) works and how it also causes the negative effects on plants, animals and humans. It is curious how anyone that has the power to stop (or at least halt) this science doesn't see that manipulation of the genes of plants - and directly afterwards animals and humans - as anything other than dangerous! It's more than dangerous, it should be criminal!

Congressman Dennis Kucinich has been a strong supporter of the labeling of GMO foods, and is now stepping it up a notch. Last week in DC, he introduced ligislation which would prohibit GMO crops from being grown where they can contaminate non-GMO crops through open cross pollination. The bill would also require strict tracking of all GM foods to ensure that they don't get misused or contaminate other natural foods. Now let's see what the agrochemical giants' lobbyists do to shut it down in the name of profits and secrecy...

Monsanto, Syngenta, Bayer, BASF, Dow and DuPont have been tried and found guilty for widespread human rights violations, and the courts are now urging the world governments to intervene and act to prevent further death and sickness. This is a HUGE step in the right direction, but a little late for the millions who have died from pesticide poisoning and related illness, and the generations of damage that have been done to our food supplies and soils.

This article shows many studies that prove Monsanto RoundUp herbicide causes sickness, disease, birth defects, and increased mortality. Worse, it shows that the negative effects are traced from GMO crops designed to resist RoundUp as well as natural, non-GMO crops.

Australia's largest bakery recently succumbed to a major social media campaign led by GreenPeace and vowed to refuse to use genetically modified (GM) wheat in their products. If we can't eliminate GMOs by other means, we can always use good old fashioned capitalism and greed and tell the food companies that if they use GMOs then we're not buying what they're selling.

A very well written article about GMOs and their proliferation right under our noses. Many studies have shown - PROVEN, not suggested - that GMOs lead to organ failure, sterility, high infant mortality, birth defects, cancer, and other diseases, when testing on animals, yet the US government continues to turn a blind eye. In this article, another consideration is brought to bear, and the Tribal Nation describes how traditional, clean organisms such as maize (corn) and others, are used for religious ceremonies. Maybe taking the religious argument to court will get some attention, because the crazy "this stuff could be killing us slowly" argument hasn't worked yet...

Bayer (yes, they make pharmaceuticals AND wheat) announced an agreement with the European Union to develop a more heat- and drought-resistant wheat over the next 10 years, and to do it without using genetic modification - aka, to do it all non-GMO. It's a great step in the non-GM battle, but Bayer actually used the announcement to further their claim that technology is essential to the food security of the world in the coming years.
I like to think that technology is required, but in the aspect of improving efficiency and irrigation, etc, just as the technology improved over the past few thousand years. The next logical step isn't to genetically modify the organisms, rather we should continue improving our kitchen gardening and regional farming systems. In other words, decentralize the subsidized farming system here in the US...

Federal court requires GM sugar beets to comply with and complete full-scale environmental impact study before being allowed to widespread use. This is no small victory - it sets the precedent that there may no longer be absolute unregulated roll out of GMOs.

Not all hybrid vegetables are bad, as is seen in this new super-broccoli. Most hybrids and even GMOs were devised with the best of intentions; sadly the best of intentions quickly morphed into the most greedy of intentions...

Let's be honest - If all GMO seeds and produce were banned today, and were taken off the shelves and destroyed in the fields tomorrow, the world would be thrust into starvation. We cannot just eliminate the GMOs, we need to first build the world supply of open-pollinated non-GMO and non-hybrid seed. We are nowhere near that point today, and it could take years to get there. That's why we should all start today!

Ark Institute and founder Geri Guidetti support the Fair Farm Rules bill, which supports and protects small, local farmers and gardens against the monopolistic large corporations that control our food system. The sick reality is that if you put the CEOs of the companies which control approximately 75% of the nation's food supplies all together, they could sit on an average patio around a grill. That's right, there's only a few of them. We pay more for our foods at the grocery store, while they all make more money and local farmers make less and less.

We are not making a political statement here , as we try not to ever do so in this forum, but with some people trying to strip the US Government down to nothing, wouldn't we at least want to keep the parts that just may keep us alive and maintain our food health?

If you feel better buying foods that have the label "NON-GMO" on them, you may not want to read this study that shows the ease with which GM foods can contaminate planned non-GM crops, just in transit! All the more reason to grow your own produce and stay as self-reliant as possible... The study is from Australia, but so are koala bears and Crocodile Dundee, right?

It seems that everyone is starting to realize that genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are not so good for you. Monsanto, the largest agrochemical vegetable company in the world, is now starting to limit their GMO foods in their own corporate cafeterias!
